GRAY. NO. DON'T DIE...
Well, Hiro Mashima, the mangaka, has said on his twitter page in advance, that this chapter will definitely be a surprise to readers.
So first off, I was actually amazed and surprised at how well this chapter was planned. In fact, it was one of the best chapters released in a long time. the unexpected happened, and the Jellal sort of problem has been cleared up.
Starting with the beginning of the chapter, Milliana is enraged by seeing Erza and Jellal together. Then Ultear, appears and explains that she has been the one who is controlling him, and she is held responsible for all his actions regarding to the tower and sorts. Kagura overhears the convo and her nerves are steadied, which is good, I guess.
Then Ultear realizes that she shalln't kill Rogue, as he is an innocent man, and has no reason to die Then she collapses realizing who her true self really was. And then she came to a conclusion of her sins and how she doesn't deserve to live anymore.
Then, Sting is found teaming up with another dragon, like how Natsu did. Rougue and Sting, and his dragon are now teaming up to defeat the one rogue had been facing off.
And then, this is where Gray's character comes into action. He says that he has something to say to Juvia, and it may be a love confession, but Lyon interrupts. He shouts that there are laser beam dragons targeting her, and to everyone's surprise, Gray shoved Juvia away and shielded her with his body. There probably wasn't enough time to make an ice shield. He took a few more "bullets" and died. HE DIED> HOW DID THIS FIRRIGGIN HAPPEN. I WILL NOT ALLOW THIS GAHHH.
And now, Juvia is devastated, and so are all the readers out there.
However, I think that maybe Ultear helps heal Geay somehow later to lift her sins, since Gray was an apprentice of her mother, Ur. Well, the rest still lies as a mystery. Gah. D: THIS CHAPTER"S SO SAD.
